I have completely redone my bathroom. For the last three years we have had an underwater bathroom. I painted it when we first moved in and never really finished it. These are the "before" pictures:
I know this is an unusual bathroom and many people just love it, but it's dark and busy. We are tired of it.
Last week I painted the whole room, ceiling and all. Now it's a soft pale green with a white ceiling.
These are the "after" pics:
I haven't done anything other than paint the room yet. I originally wanted a natural decor with plants, stone, wicker, wood and raffia - essentially a green and tan bathroom, but now I am having second thoughts. I might like a soft green and rose bathroom. Hmmm....too many choices. I will probably go with the green and natural tan decor but I am going to think about it first. It might depend on what fabric I find for the curtain.
It's a bit of a shock. The room looks so big now with solid, plain walls. I am planning on painting a loose open string of ivy at chair height around the room to cover a default in the wall. I will also paint a plant growing above the door and hanging down, I think. I am hanging real plants in natural twine hangers that I am in the process of making.
I have a lot of basketry, stone and wood to put in the room and a small fountain for the corner. With Christmas and all, I just haven't had the time to put them in place yet.
I am painting the kitchen next week in a light tan colour with a green bottom. There's a chair rail around the room. Right now it's yellow and we are tired of it. I am going with a green and tan, natural theme in there too. I still have the paint to do the other two bedrooms and the top of the hall and livingroom, both of which have chair rails. That will be the entire inside of the house painted!
Decorating is fun! Thankfully I already had the paint for all that I needed to do. It was given to me last year by someone who was moving and just wanted it gone. In the past two months I have painted a bedroom, the bathroom, the bottom half of the hall-livingroom and the trim, windows and doors in the entire house with this free paint. Thank you, Lord for this blessing!
